SharePoint AutoVue connector settings configuration do not apply


Administrative privileges on the server are required to apply the configuration and solution in this ticket 

In SharePoint Site Settings -> AutoVue connector settings

When trying to add AutoVue custom columns and features for the first time you get the following error

"A problem has occurred, please try again. If the problem persists please contact your server administrator or Lifecycle Technology"

This normally happens when users do not have permissions to the VieLink folders in the SharePoint hive

To resolve this problem log onto each SharePoint Application and Web Front End (WFE) with administrative priviledges

Add modify rights to each of the following folders


  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\VueLink
  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\ISAPI\VueLink


Re-try applying the configuration
